After the violent floods that hit northern Sicily in Italy, the village of Zafferia, in the most disaster victim, is at the heart of cleaning efforts. Firefighters and rescuers are busy to free the mud and secure the area.
Four motorists trapped in an underground passage were saved in extremis.
The emergency services also intervened in front of landslides that affected several neighboring localities, including Milita, Altolia, Cumia and Ponte Schiavo.
