Parts of central and southern England received 60 to 80 millimetres on Monday, with flash floods leaving many homes submerged.

Parts of central and southern England received 60 to 80 millimetres on Monday, with flash floods leaving many homes submerged.

Roads were closed, some train services were suspended in London and dozens of people reported their homes were affected.

HAS Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshirethe roads turned into rivers.

Sunil Ladwa, a local resident, said he was “stunned” that measures had not been put in place to deal with the floods.

Rains will continue in some affected areas during the week, weather services have warned.
