A tornado tore through the Šiauliai district in northern Lithuania on Saturday, destroying several houses as well as gardens and fields in its wake, leaving several families homeless.

On Sunday, several villagers began cleaning up their property after the stormy night. A farmer and his workers were picking up debris from a grain field. Power has not yet been restored. On Monday, local authorities announced they would declare a state of emergency.
