Around 70 people had to be evacuated in the municipality of Brienz in the canton of Bern after a storm hit the region on Monday. Two people were slightly injured. No one is missing.
Buildings, parked vehicles and public transport infrastructure were also severely damaged by a mudslide. At around 6:30 p.m., the Mühlebach river in Brienz burst its banks.
Rail and ferry connections to and from Brienz remain interrupted. Replacement buses are in operation. The road through Brienz (BE) is also closed in both directions.
