In Michigan City where these images were filmed, nearly a meter of snow fell in one weekend. Part of the country was affected by this exceptional cold episode, including southern states such as Texas and Florida.

Populations less accustomed to the cold were surprised by the storm coming from Canada. In Tennessee, frozen water damaged some infrastructure that was not designed for such low temperatures. Bottles of water were distributed to residents.

Temperatures sometimes touching -10°C are expected to rise again this week.
