Video. No Comment: massive attack on Ukraine, at least 22 dead


The Ukrainian Air Force intercepted most of the ballistic and cruise missiles as well as Shahed-type drones overnight from Thursday to Friday, Ukrainian military chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi said.

Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk wrote on his official Telegram channel that it was “the most massive air attack” since the full-scale invasion of Russia in February 2022.

At least 128 people were injured and an unknown number were buried under rubble during the attack, which lasted about 18 hours, Ukrainian officials said. Buildings reported to have been damaged across Ukraine included a maternity ward, apartment buildings and schools.

In Boyarka, a town near kyiv, debris from a downed drone fell on a house and started a fire.

Five people were killed and 20 injured in the eastern town of Dnipro, where four patients at a maternity hospital were rescued from a fire, officials said.

In Odessa on the south coast, falling drone wreckage sparked a fire in a multi-story residential building, according to regional head Oleh Kiper. Two people were killed and 15 others, including two children, were injured during the Odessa attack, he said.

The mayor of the western city of Lviv, Andrii Sadovyi, said one person was killed and eight injured and three schools and a kindergarten were damaged in a drone attack in the area.

Several dozen missiles were launched toward kyiv overnight, and more than 30 of them were intercepted, said Serhii Popko, head of kyiv’s military administration. The attack sparked a fire at a warehouse in the capital’s Podil district, where five people were reportedly pulled from the rubble. Three people were killed in the capital.

In northeastern Ukraine, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the city was subjected to at least three waves of air attacks overnight, including launches of S-300 and Kh-300 missiles. 21. One person was killed and at least nine injured, authorities said.
