With a value that can frequently reach more than 50,000 euros, the ladoum is the ultimate symbol of social success in a country where the average income per capita is less than 1,500 euros.

In 2017, an adult ladoum named in honor of Morocco’s former king, Hassan II, was sold for a record price of 80,000 euros.

This rare Senegalese sheep breed, with a short coat, which can measure up to 120 centimeters, is raised mainly in urban areas by a network of specialized breeders.
