Video. New Year: 65,000 swimmers will brave the cold to take the plunge on New Year’s Day in the Netherlands

Since 1960, swimmers have jumped into the water at the stroke of midnight from Scheveningen beach. The organizers of this New Year’s bath are expecting a record number of participants this year, with no less than 65,000 bathers, including 10,000 in Scheveningen. In addition to the bathing places in the Netherlands, 17 other sites are also registered around the world such as Aruba and Curaçao, Dutch overseas territories, but also in Spain, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong , or even in Australia.
