Inaugural speeches are traditionally delivered on the National Mall in front of tens of thousands of enthusiastic supporters, many of whom are ordinary voters from across America, who have traveled long distances to witness history firsthand.
Mr. Trump delivered his speech to a crowd estimated at around 600 people in the Capitol Rotunda, which was limited to members of Congress, cabinet appointees, Mr. Trump’s family, business leaders and political figures.
Thousands of his supporters watched the broadcast of the swearing-in at the Capitol One Arena, or chose to stand along the road, like supporters at the Tour de France, to catch even a brief glimpse moment the one who promises to “restore America to greatness” – for the second time.
