Video: Israeli notices to demolish dozens of Palestinian facilities in Jerusalem | Policy

Occupied Jerusalem- The Jerusalem Governorate said on Sunday that the Israeli occupation authorities issued notices to demolish dozens of Palestinian shops and facilities in the town of Al-Ram, northeast of the occupied Holy City.

The governorate stated that “a major demolition massacre awaits dozens of shops (shops) in the Al-Ram area (..) especially the shops parallel to the main street leading to the Jaba checkpoint.”

She indicated that the goal of the demolition is to expand the street connecting Abu Al-Shahid roundabout near the Israeli military checkpoint, which connects Jerusalem to the city of Ramallah, up to the Jaba occupation checkpoint northeast of Jerusalem.

Tel Aviv Tribune Net toured the street intended to be expanded, and met a number of owners of commercial establishments at risk of demolition.

Muhammad Al-Amouri, the owner of a meat store at risk of demolition, says, “We were surprised this morning that the (Israeli) army handed us demolition orders for this entire area (..) even though our actions did not pose any harm to the street.”

Meanwhile, Tamer Al-Halawani, the owner of a garage that is also threatened with demolition, says that the demolition decision affects dozens of shops, some of which were built 20 years ago, far from law and justice, indicating that there are alternatives free of buildings to establish the street in question.
