Video. Images of devastating and murderous floods in Nigeria

Torrential rains caused a rapid rise in water levels on Wednesday, May 28, overwhelming houses, taking roads and damaging bridges.

The Mokwa agglomeration has seen more than 3,000 displaced residents and 500 households affected.

Although seasonal floods are not uncommon, the extent and speed of this disaster raise new concerns about the growing impact of climate change in the vulnerable regions of Nigeria.
