Video. Gaza ceasefire agreement: protest demonstrations in Jerusalem

Families of soldiers displayed coffins in Jerusalem on Thursday during a protest against the ceasefire agreement.

The right-wing Gvura forum, which represents some families of soldiers killed in the war, believes that if Israel accepts the proposed deal, it will surrender to Hamas without having achieved the war’s goals.

The forum’s chairman, Yehoshua Shani, who lost his son, Captain Ori Mordehai Shani, on October 7, said the deal would “leave behind us in the Gaza Strip about 70 hostages.”

He said he saw Donald Trump’s inauguration as an opportunity to recover all the hostages and “destroy Hamas to bring the nation total victory.”

U.S. President Joe Biden and top mediator Qatar announced the deal Wednesday, which aims to free dozens of hostages held in Gaza and end a 15-month war that has destabilized the Middle East and sparked protests around the world.
