An explosion, suspected from a gas leak, killed one person and injured 22 others in the northern Chinese city of Sanhe on Wednesday.
Authorities said the explosion occurred early in the morning at a fried chicken shop in the city, an hour’s drive from Beijing.
The area was cordoned off as rescue work continued at the scene where smoke was still coming from the building. The explosion is attributed to a gas leak.
