The ceasefire in Gaza provided a brief respite from Israeli bombardment while facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid.

But the living conditions of the two million displaced people remain disastrous. Winter conditions compound their difficulties; heavy rains have flooded makeshift shelters and tents.

Despite the truce, widespread destruction is preventing people from returning home, forcing them to endure harsh conditions in rain-soaked camps with little hope of improvement.
