A group of children in the Gaza Strip called on the entire world to work to bring food and other types of foodstuffs into Gaza in light of the famine that is striking the Strip as the war continues.

The children sent their message to the world in their own way by singing and banging on empty eating utensils while waiting to get food from a hospice in Gaza, saying, “Bring me (I want) fruits, bring me chicken, bring me meat.”

One of the children in the video, which activist Saed Hasballah shared on Instagram yesterday, Sunday, demanded the need to bring food in, saying that they have been waiting for food in front of the hospice for a long time, and that what they are getting is not enough, so “we demand that the world (to) bring food to us and to stop the war.” .

Yesterday, Sunday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced the suspension of the delivery of aid through the Kerem Shalom crossing, the main corridor for humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip, after an armed gang seized food trucks yesterday, Saturday, that attempted to enter through this crossing.

The famine has worsened in most areas of the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli siege, especially in the north, following the Israeli occupation’s continued genocide and starvation, at a time when all areas of the Gaza Strip are experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, coinciding with the advent of winter for the second year in a row, with about two million displaced Palestinians. Most of them sleep in tents.

Last Friday, the government media office in Gaza said in a statement that the Palestinians in the Strip had reached “a catastrophic stage of hunger and worsening suffering” in light of the Israeli war of annihilation that has been ongoing for more than a year.

The United Nations World Food Program also announced last Friday that all bakeries in the central Gaza Strip were closed due to a lack of supplies as a result of the Israeli war that has been ongoing for more than a year.

At most, 30 aid trucks enter the Gaza Strip daily, which are very scarce quantities and are considered “a drop in the ocean of need for Palestinians and displaced people,” according to previous statements by UNRWA media officer Enas Hamdan.

With American support, Israel has been waging a war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which left more than 149,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed tens of hundreds of children and the elderly.
