Occupied Jerusalem- A young Palestinian man who recently graduated from Al-Quds University was able to develop a local multi-action robot.

Industrial engineer Hamza Nairoukh, a graduate of the “Dual Studies in Industrial Engineering” program, told Tel Aviv Tribune Net that the robot he developed “moves in 6 axes.”

He added that the idea of the device exists in the world, but it is the first to be produced by Palestinians and to see the light in light of the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and the occupation’s measures in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Nairoukh points out that the robot can compensate for working hands that need to repeat the same movement hundreds and thousands of times, thus freeing those hands for tasks that require greater experience and skill.

Engineer Al-Maqdisi stated that completing the project required about a year and a half, about half of which was spent planning and studying.

He pointed out that the entire outer structure of the robot was printed using a 3D printer inside Al-Quds University laboratories, and that it will be used for industrial applications such as the CNC milling machine, which are machines that use computers to perform certain functions.

Nairoukh pointed to cooperation with two local companies that formed an incubator for his training, “Tabarak CNC” and “Nayroukh Al Taqadum,” explaining that he is working with them on the second phase of developing the robot from the ability to carry 400 grams to 5 kilograms.

In a post on Facebook, the President of Al-Quds University, Dr. Imad Abu Kishk, announced that he would work to help Nairoukh “who developed a unique robotic arm (..) to develop his ideas globally as part of my personal and institutional commitment to nurturing youth entrepreneurial ideas.”
