US General Petraeus: Israel’s war on Gaza will last ‘months, not weeks’ | Israelo-Palestinian conflict


Former CIA Director David Petraeus said Israel would resume war on Gaza if it did not want Hamas to rebuild.

Israel has not explained what it seeks to accomplish in its war on Gaza beyond destroying Hamas, according to US General David Petraeus, former CIA director and former commander of US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. .

Petraeus told host Steve Clemons that the United States has no choice but to remain a “steady ally” of Israel, lest China and other countries denounce the abandonment of its friends by Washington.

In this wide-ranging conversation, the former CENTCOM commander added that “there are no hands raised in the region” to volunteer to manage Gaza after the war.
