In the United States, Republicans block the vote on a new aid package for Ukraine and Israel and demand in exchange a toughening of migration policy

Just before the vote, Joe Biden warned that a blockage would be “the greatest gift” that Vladimir Putin could imagine.
Chuck Schumer, leader of the Democratic majority in the Senate: “If the Republicans in the Senate do not get serious again very quickly on a national security package, Vladimir Putin will pass through Ukraine and Europe without difficulty.”
Volodymyr Zelensky also calls on the G7 leaders not to reduce their support.
According to the Ukrainian President, Vladimir Putin hopes that Western support for Ukraine will collapse during the year 2024.
Most military aid to Ukraine comes from the European Union and the United States.
Since the Russian invasion launched in February 2022, the United States alone has already committed more than $110 billion in aid to Ukraine.
Until they come to fruition, Washington announced on Wednesday new military aid to kyiv, in the limited amount of $175 million drawn from the executive’s reserves. The detail includes air defense equipment, missiles and artillery ammunition.
