The shooting left at least three dead and several injured at a Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin.
A teacher and a teenager were killed in a Wisconsin school shooting by a classmate, according to the police chief.
Police say the juvenile opened fire at a private Christian school Monday morning in Madison, during the last week before the Christmas break. Police say the shooter is also deceased.
Abundant Life Christian School is nondenominational and has about 390 students, from kindergarten through high school, according to its website.
Police previously said five people had died.
In a statement, Madison police said seven people were injured, with injuries ranging from “minor to fatal”.
“We pray for the children, teachers and entire community at Abundant Life School as we await further information and are grateful to the first responders who are working quickly to respond to the situation”Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said in a statement.
In a statement, the White House said President Joe Biden had been briefed on the shooting and that officials were in contact with local authorities to provide support.
