United Kingdom: Rishi Sunak promises tax cuts


Far behind Labor in the polls, the British Prime Minister promises tax cuts in the event of victory in the July elections.

The road is straight, but the slope is steep for Rishi Sunak, the British Prime Minister 20 points behind Labor in latest pollss.

There are just over three weeks until the July 4 elections and Rishi Sunak is promising tax cuts if his party wins.

In his program, the Tory leader also promises to cut immigration in half.

Rishi Sunak, British Prime Minister: “But I’m not blind to the fact that people are frustrated with our party and frustrated with me. Things haven’t always been easy and we haven’t achieved everything. But we are the only party in this election to have the big ideas to make our country a better place to live.”

Rishi Sunak also promises, in the event of victory, to help first-time buyers become owners.

Labor leader Keir Starmer calls the Tories’ program a “recipe for five more years of chaos”.
