With 24 hours to go before the UK general election, Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party is trying to limit the damage it is doing against Keir Starmer’s Labour Party.
The UK’s two main political parties are wrapping up their campaign with voters on Wednesday.
Although the Labour Party is leading in the polls, its leader, Keir Starmerurged his supporters in Hucknall, a town in central England, not to rest on their laurels.
“Forget the polls. You know that in constituencies like this, every vote counts. We have to work until 10pm on Thursday night to make it clear that if you want change, you have to vote for it,” he said.
In the countryside in Oxfordshire, Rishi Sunakthe prime minister since 2022 and leader of the Conservative Party, reaffirmed that the race was not over, despite disastrous polls.
“We obviously want to make sure that everyone can vote, because this is an important election. And despite what some people want to believe, that everything is decided in advance, every vote counts,” the Prime Minister recalled.
Millions of Britons will vote this week to elect the 650-seat House of Commons and a new government. The Conservatives are expected to lose to the main opposition party, the centre-left Labour Party, after 14 years in power.
50 million voters called to the polls
They will elect 650 members of the House of Commons, as well as a new government. A landslide victory for the Labour Party is expected after 14 years in opposition.
But in some areas, the battle will be tough.
Among them is the Red Wall(the Red Wall) of the electoral districts of Midlands and North of England. An industrial area historically owned by Labour.
That was the case until conservatives gained ground five years ago. Experts say growing discontent with them could tip it back over.

THE Liberal Democrats centrists, the Green Partye Greens and the Reform Party led by one of the architects of the Brexit, Nigel Farage also intend to collect votes from disgruntled voters this Thursday.
Although many experts expect a low turnout, the election could bring a change Britain has not seen in decades.
