Five years ago the world watched with amazement as the fire ravaged the framework of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Since then, the emblematic monument has found its spire in the Parisian sky and numerous repair works are still in progress.

Soon the nave of the cathedral will host 1,500 unique solid oak chairs manufactured by a Landes family business.

The wood was selected and dried for three years before making the chairs which, as their makers say, “will last for centuries“.

The chairs are made in the Basque Country. It takes half a day to make each seat, designed by a French designer.

The opening of the Parisian monument is scheduled for December 2024.
