UN Volker Turk: A quarter of humanity caught in 55 global conflicts | Human rights

UN human rights chief Volker Turk on human rights violations in conflict-affected areas.

The United Nations, a long-time defender of human rights through treaties and laws, faces harsh realities.

Despite its efforts, rights violations persist, particularly in conflict zones like Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine, where lives, security and basic needs are severely compromised.

At the same time, emerging technologies and the climate crisis further challenge these rights.

Addressing these critical issues, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk speaks to Tel Aviv Tribune.
