UN Rapporteur: Executing civilians is a systematic policy of the occupation in Gaza news

|

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, said that the extrajudicial execution of civilians is part of the systematic and widespread occupation practices practiced by Israeli occupation soldiers in the Gaza Strip.

Albanese added that the executions taking place against Palestinians, including children, are not isolated incidents at all.

A week ago, the United Nations rapporteur commented on the occupation’s attacks on the northern Palestinian Strip, and said that Israeli forces were committing another massacre in the northern Gaza Strip.

Albanese described what was happening, saying that Palestinians were being killed in Jabalia cruelly and sadistically with Western weapons and support.

Expert statement

Francesca Albanese was one of 40 UN experts in the field of human rights, who called on all countries of the world to exert political pressure to end “the illegal occupation, apartheid, oppression and Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.”

In a statement issued last Wednesday, the experts condemned the “lack of action” by countries, more than 50 days after the decision of the United Nations International Court of Justice, which ruled that Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories is “illegal.”

The experts said, “If we do not act now, the entire structure of international law and the rule of law in global issues is at risk.”
