Michael Fakhry, the UN Special Rapporteur on Food, said that it is not surprising that the United States will use the veto in the Security Council on the Gaza Strip, calling for the sending of humanitarian aid through the UN peacekeeping forces against Israel.
The Security Council – Wednesday – failed to adopt a draft resolution on an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, as Washington used the veto despite all the 14 members of the Security Council vote in favor of the decision.
Fakhry stressed – in his speech to Al -Jazeera – that international law is binding like Security Council resolutions, and that the United Nations General Assembly has the authority to implement decisions when the Security Council fails.
The UN decision referred to the decision of the International Court of Justice to consider the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories illegal and the need to end.
He pointed out that Israel is waging a waring war and violation of international law, citing arrest orders from the International Criminal Court of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Joav Galant, for committing war crimes.
He stressed that the statements of the European countries that condemn Israel in Gaza “are not enough”, stressing the need for the need for actions that do not say, “People die in a horrific way daily.”
He called on these countries to work to a ceasefire and send aid immediately through the peacekeeping forces, and ignore Israel’s position in this regard.
Fakhri launched a sharp attack on the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”, and said that it is not a humanitarian organization in any way, describing it as a “tool for arming aid”, as well as “insulting and subjecting the Palestinians and displacing them from their places of residence.”
The United Nations refused to cooperate with this institution with mysterious financing sources, saying it does not respect the basic humanitarian principles.
The UN decision also inferred Israel fire and killing aid applicants.
The government media office in Gaza announced, on Tuesday, the increase in the number of martyrs in aid distribution centers to 102 within 8 days, and said that the occupation was transformed into mass death traps.
The government media office indicated that the repetition of massacres reveals that what is going on is a use of aid as a tool for killing and collective cleansing.
In turn, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, in its latest statistics, reported that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression on the Strip has increased to 54 thousand and 607 martyrs and 125 thousand and 341 injured since October 7, 2023.
Since this date, the occupation army has launched a war of genocide against the residents of the Palestinian sector – according to the description of international experts – almost all the residents of the sector have been narrated amid unprecedented destruction since the Second World War.
After a suffocating siege that lasted for more than two months, Israel has allowed since May 19 to the entry of a limited number of United Nations trucks to Gaza, while humanitarian and international organizations described this aid as only a “drop in the vicinity” of the needs in the Palestinian sector.
