Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians gathered to pay tribute to the victims of the Olenivka prison explosion.

The tragedy took place two years ago, when 53 Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed.

Two years later, the speakers urged the government to do everything possible to obtain the release of prisoners of war.

In the eyes of the Ukrainian army, the tragedy of Olenivka prison is one of the worst massacres of the war.

The victims were mostly Ukrainian soldiers captured after the long siege of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.

Russia accuses Ukraine of firing a missile at the detention center.

Ukrainians, on the contrary, are convinced that Russian forces deliberately triggered the explosion.

The victims’ parents are demanding to know exactly what happened.
