In recent weeks, Russia and Ukraine have intensified their drone attacks. Ukrainian authorities claimed to have shot down a missile and 20 Russian attack drones overnight from Saturday to Sunday. For its part, Moscow said it had destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones.

After almost two years of war, Russia is increasing pressure on the territory. During the congress of his political party, Vladimir Putin, candidate for the next presidential election in March 2024, promised to make Russia a “sovereign and self-sufficient” power in the face of the West.
