Israeli Occupation Army Radio said that two Palestinians were arrested after they infiltrated the Central Army Command camp in occupied Jerusalem, and added that an investigation into the incident is underway.

Army Radio added that border guard forces were pursuing five other suspects who tried to infiltrate the camp.

There have been frequent running-overs, stabbings, and shooting attacks targeting Israeli settlers and soldiers, and the Palestinians say that these operations are a response to the Israeli attacks in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The Palestinians of Jerusalem, in particular, suffer from the occupation’s widespread demolition of their homes, especially in the Silwan neighborhood, in addition to the repeated raids on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as part of the Judaization process, settlement expansion, and daily provocation of the population.

Since last December until now, many Palestinian operations have taken place, the most recent of which was last Wednesday, when an Israeli female soldier was injured in a run-over operation near the Nili settlement, west of Ramallah. Before that, an Israeli woman died from her wounds in a stabbing attack in Herzliya, near Tel Aviv.

On December 12, an Israeli was killed and 3 others were injured in a shooting attack on an Israeli bus near the tunnel checkpoint south of Jerusalem. A Palestinian was also martyred days later in the town of Hizma, north of Jerusalem, at the hands of the Israeli police after they claimed he attempted to carry out a stabbing attack at a military checkpoint in the town. .

In addition to individual operations, the Palestinian resistance also escalated its operations against the occupation forces in several locations in the West Bank as the occupation continued its daily incursions, which resulted in the martyrdom of a large number of Palestinians.

Palestinian bodies have documented the death of more than 830 people in the West Bank and the injury of more than 6,400 since October 2023.
