The Israeli occupation army announced early Thursday morning that two of its soldiers were killed as a result of a run-over attack at the Awarta checkpoint near the city of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the occupation forces stormed the city of Nablus at midnight after a ramming operation, where the Israeli army sent in more of its forces. The occupation forces also stormed the cities of Tulkarm, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, and the town of Beit Ummar in Hebron.

For its part, the Israeli Walla website said that army forces are combing the area to find the perpetrator of the attack. The occupation forces were on alert at the Awarta checkpoint, southeast of Nablus.

Israeli media reported that the occupation army was on alert at the Awarta checkpoint, southeast of Nablus, and was combing the area in search of the perpetrator of the attack, and indicated that it had sent air forces and special forces to chase the perpetrator of the ramming attack.

Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent Laith Jaar pointed out that since the operation he surrendered himself to the Palestinian security services in Nablus and said that what happened to him was a traffic accident and not a run-over.

In its first comment, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the operation of running over two Israeli soldiers in Nablus on Wednesday evening was “an extension of the escalating state of anger against the occupation in the West Bank.”

The movement added – in a statement – that the ramming operation, which it described as heroic, which took place near the Awarta checkpoint southeast of Nablus, is “a natural response to a criminal enemy who commits massacres without any regard to international values, norms and laws.”

Storming West Bank cities

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent in Ramallah, Muhammad Khairy, said that the occupation forces stormed the center of Ramallah early in the morning in large numbers and reached Al-Manara Roundabout.

Tear gas bombs were also fired heavily, as Tel Aviv Tribune’s office in the city was affected by this gas. The correspondent pointed out that the occupation forces are besieging one of the most important Palestinian banks in Ramallah.

In a related development, a reporter in Hebron, Montaser Nassar, reported that the occupation forces stormed the Al-Dhahr area in the town of Beit Ummar in Hebron, half an hour after shooting at the Karma Sur settlement.

The occupation’s raids, early in the morning on Thursday, included the city of Al-Bireh and the city of Tulkarm

In a previous development, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that 3 Israeli soldiers were injured as a result of the detonation of an explosive device during Israeli army operations in Tubas last night. The occupation forces stormed the city and raided a number of homes, claiming that their owners were wanted by the security services.

Targeting a settlement

The Al-Qassam Brigades in Tulkarm camp also announced yesterday, Wednesday, the targeting of the Beit Hefer settlement, west of Tulkarm, in response to the massacres committed by the occupation in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that Israeli army forces began inspections at the site.

The head of the municipal council of the town of Beit Hefer, within the Green Line, called on the Israeli Minister of Defense to strengthen the Israeli security and military presence on a regular basis in the vicinity of the settlement.
Establishing a buffer zone behind the separation wall, to prevent similar operations in the future.

For his part, right-wing Knesset member Gideon Sa’ar commented on the shooting, calling on the Israelis to preserve their lives under a failed war government, according to what he said. While an Israeli security official confirmed that the security forces are working around the clock, but 100 percent success cannot be achieved.

The Israeli occupation army confirmed that the town of Abeit Hefer, northwest of Tulkarm, was exposed to gunfire. He said that his forces began the process of searching and eliminating the perpetrators as soon as possible.

Since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, the Israeli army has escalated its operations in the West Bank, leaving hundreds of martyrs and thousands wounded and detained.
