On Sunday, two political analysts in two Israeli newspapers criticized the policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government that refuses to discuss “the next day of the war on Gaza,” saying that as a result of that refusal, the army is launching new operations in the areas it left in the Gaza Strip and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has regained them. Her strength.

Writer Benahum Barnea said – in an article published by Yedioth Ahronoth – that Israel faces what he described as “the confusion of the post-Hamas era,” and it cannot take the option of military stay in Gaza, because that would cost it a lot in terms of security and economic capabilities.

He added that Tel Aviv considers choosing the Palestinian Authority as an alternative to Hamas in Gaza a “bad option,” he said.

An Israeli military source was also quoted as saying that although the Palestinian Authority is considered a “bad option,” the Israeli government must take a decision regarding Hamas’ alternative, because “failing to do so would lead to the current reality,” referring to the army’s repeated operations in the Zaytoun neighborhood (central Strip). Gaza) and Jabalia (north of the Strip).

Meanwhile, Barnea quoted a political source as saying that Israeli talk about the day after the war is “detached from reality and populist,” as long as Hamas remains an organized military force.

For his part, political analyst Yoav Limor said – in an article published by the newspaper “Israel Today” – that since the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the areas where they fought in Gaza, Hamas has regained control in those areas, appointed new leaders and rebuilt the infrastructure to repel future attacks.

He stated that the refusal of the Netanyahu government to make a decision about the next day of the war “is costing the Israeli army dearly,” explaining that instead of another party taking over the areas that Israel is leaving, Hamas returns to control them, which forces the return of the army, as he put it.

He added that the continuation of the Israeli army’s campaigns – which he described as “local” without a broad plan – means that the Hamas movement will not be defeated.

The Israeli Prime Minister submitted the “Next Day” document to the cabinet last February, which included Israel retaining freedom of action in the entire Gaza Strip without a time limit, and also included establishing a security zone in the Strip adjacent to Israeli towns.
