Two Palestinian children were injured this Sunday evening by Israeli army gunfire during clashes in the town of Beit Furik, in the northern West Bank. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its crews transported a child (15 years old) who was injured by live bullets in the foot and shrapnel in the back, and another (16 years old) who was injured by shrapnel in the back.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club reported in a statement that the Israeli occupation forces arrested at least 30 Palestinians within 48 hours, as part of the ongoing escalation in the West Bank. The arrests were distributed between Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, and Jenin, where the occupation forces continue to carry out raids and torture against detainees and their families.
The statement explained that the occupation forces continue to carry out widespread incursions, raiding Palestinian homes, tampering with their contents, and attacking families. According to official Palestinian data, Israeli violations in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, resulted in the death of 751 Palestinians, the injury of about 6,250 others, and the arrest of more than 11,200 Palestinians.
The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, witnesses daily violations by the Israeli army and settlers, which increases tension and deepens the humanitarian crisis.
The suffering of Palestinian detainees
In a related context, Palestinian institutions – concerned with monitoring the conditions of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons – announced the death of detainee Muhammad Munir Musa (37 years old) in an Israeli hospital.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club confirmed that the Israeli side informed the Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority of the martyrdom of Musa, who had been detained since April 2023 and suffered from diabetes.
This brings the number of Palestinians who were martyred while in detention to 41 detainees since October 7, 2023. Palestinian institutions described this number as the highest historically compared to previous years.
The Palestinian Authority, through the head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority, Qaddoura Fares, accused Israel of practicing “revenge” against Palestinian detainees after the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance on settlements and camps around the Gaza Strip.
