US President Donald Trump said there is a good opportunity to conclude an agreement on the liberation of hostages and the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) this week.
Trump told reporters before Washington left that such an agreement means that it is possible to edit “a good number of hostages.”
Trump also said he is working on many things with Israel, noting the possibility of a permanent deal with Iran.
Trump is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – who is required for the International Criminal Crime for war crimes – today, Monday, at the White House.
The “next day” case
The Walla -Israeli website quoted US officials that Trump wanted to agree with Netanyahu on the conditions for ending the war in Gaza, and that the issue of the “next day” of the war will be a central issue in their meeting.
The officials added that the American president wants to listen to Netanyahu’s position on this issue and reach understandings.
The site also quoted a US official as saying, “We want to reach an agreed framework regarding what the situation in Gaza will be after the war.”
On Sunday, the Israeli negotiating delegation went to Doha to conduct negotiations on the details of the ceasefire proposal in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went to Washington to meet US President Donald Trump.
Netanyahu said in statements to reporters before he boarded the plane that the meeting with Trump could contribute to reaching an agreement.
“We want to achieve the deal according to the conditions that we had agreed to, and the negotiating Israeli delegation has clear directives.”
