US President Donald Trump praised the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as he described him as the great leader who achieved huge achievements for his country, stressing the arrival of relations between Doha and Washington to its highest levels.
Trump arrived in Qatar on Wednesday on a visit, the first of its kind to an American president.
The Emir of Qatar and the American President held talks that took more than two hours, which dealt with bilateral relations and the region’s files.
The US president later said, “Qatar has a great leader.” “Our relations with Qatar have reached its highest levels in history,” he added.
The American President thanked the Emir of the State of Qatar. I am honored that I am the first American president to visit the State of Qatar.
Trump praised the renaissance achieved by Qatar, saying, “It is the Emir of the State of Qatar that made this country be proud of all the achievements made.”
He directed his speech to Sheikh Tamim, saying, “You have done well in relation to the achievements made in your country.”
He said that Qatar and the United States have strong relations “we expect to strengthen.” “The State of Qatar has a great leader and a wonderful ruling family,” he added.
Performing Qatari diplomacy
Regarding the performance of Qatari diplomacy, Trump reminded that Qatar has succeeded in negotiating to produce another American hostage, Alexander.
He expressed his aspiration to “help the State of Qatar to address the situation with Iran.”
He said, “We hope that Qatar will help us with regard to Iran, so we may succeed in saving millions of lives and we do not want things to get out of control,” he said.
On the other hand, the American president pledged to stand by Qatar and said: “We will do things that will be pleased with Qatar.”
It is noteworthy that US President Donald Trump was met with a great hospitality upon his arrival at Lusail Palace to attend the state dinner, which was established by the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher Al Thani, was receiving Trump, who was received by the Qatari offer at the official reception ceremony.
At this dinner, the delegation of Trump included the ministers of foreign and defense, the Minister of Treasury and Finance, and a number of senior White House officials, along with the American envoy to the region, Stephen Wittkov, and the Washington Entrepreneurial Affairs Envoy Adam Boller.
A number of officials of American companies that signed contracts with the State of Qatar also attended on the sidelines of the visit, including Boeing, which signed an agreement worth 200 billion dollars.
Regional weight and large momentum
Trump’s visit to Qatar is a great momentum, given the role that Qatar plays to resolve inflamed conflicts in the Middle East and the world.
Doha is working strongly to stop the war in Gaza and bring aid to the Palestinians trapped in the Strip.
During his visit to the region, Trump expressed his desire to achieve this goal.
Al -Jazeera’s correspondent in Washington, Wajdi Wafi, said that Trump is counting on the regional weight of Qatar.
She pointed out that the absence of Israel from the schedule of Trump’s visit to the region and the wide agreements signed without referring to Tel Aviv, and the new American language, reflects a major shift in American policy.
