US President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of the President of the Federal Reserve (US Central Bank) Jerome Powell, and once again demanded his dismissal from his post.
Trump has long attacked the head of the reserve council because he did not respond to the reduction of American interest rates.
“I don’t know why the Council (Powell) does not exceed. Perhaps, perhaps only, I will have to change my opinion about his dismissal, but regardless of his term will end soon,” Trump wrote on Friday in a lengthy post on the “Truth Social” website, criticizing the Federal Reserve policy.
“I fully understand that my strong criticism of it makes it difficult for him to do what he should do, which is to reduce interest rates, but I tried all the different ways,” he added.
The Federal Reserve Chairman has always been considered safe from the presidential dismissal for reasons other than misconduct or misconduct, but Trump threatened to test this legal hypothesis with his repeated threats to dismiss Powell.
Trump often retracts these threats. “I will not dismiss him,” he said at the White House on June 12.
The Federal Reserve kept the interest rates fixed last Wednesday in the range of 4.25-4.50%, and expected slowing growth, as well as high unemployment and inflation rates by the end of the year.
Powell State ends in May 2026, and Trump is expected to nominate his successor in the coming months.
In May, the Supreme Court ruling eased the concerns that Trump might be isolated Powell, as the judges described the Federal Reserve Council as “a unique and semi -special entity.”
