Trump: Iran is slowing down on its decision on the nuclear agreement news

US President Donald Trump said that Iran is slowing down to a decision on concluding a nuclear agreement with the United States, stressing that he wanted it “a final response in a very short period of time.”

Trump said – in a publication on his platform Truth Social – that he discussed with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in a telephone call, on Wednesday, Iran’s file, and told him that she could not possess a nuclear weapon.

The US President said that Putin hinted that he might participate in the talks aimed at reaching a new agreement on Iran’s nuclear program, and he saw that this might be beneficial to reach a quick solution.

Earlier on Wednesday, Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei confirmed his country’s adherence to uranium enrichment, saying that the Iranian nuclear industry will not have any benefit without fertilization capabilities.

Khamenei said that “the main American demand is that we do not have a nuclear industry, that we need them in various fields. US leaders repeat this demand in various forms and oppose our progress. The American administration and the Zionist entity must realize that they will not be able to dismantle our nuclear program.”

And Iran announced, last Saturday, that it had received “elements” of an American proposal for a nuclear agreement, following 5 rounds of indirect negotiations by Omani, which began last April.

The issue of uranium enrichment is still a major point of disagreement between Washington and Tehran, as the latter confirms its right to continue uranium enrichment for civil purposes, which the United States rejects.

The New York Times, on Tuesday, quoted Iranian and European officials that the Trump administration proposed a formula that allows Iran to continue uranium enrichment at low levels until a detailed plan is reached to prevent Tehran from having a nuclear weapon.

In this context, the United States will help building nuclear reactors for energy in Iran, and will also negotiate the establishment of enrichment facilities managed by a union that includes regional countries. As soon as Iran begins to obtain benefits from these arrangements, it will have to stop any fertilization within its territory, according to the American newspaper.

For its part, Iran is adhering to the enrichment of uranium and demands that sanctions be lifted and obtained guarantees that the American withdrawal from the nuclear agreement is not repeated, as happened in 2018 during the first Trump state.
