Politico published a joint article by three foreign doctors who recently returned from Gaza, in which they confirmed that what they saw in Gaza resembled a “triangle of death” of famine, drought, and disease.
The doctors added in the article that the Israeli army kidnapped many doctors and detained them in inhumane conditions for several months in violation of international humanitarian law.
Anesthesiologist and ICU physician Michael Perry, orthopedic surgeon Suhail Khan, and consultant vascular and general surgeon Edward Brown recently volunteered on an MAP-IRC emergency medical team in Gaza.
The three doctors pointed out that there is no safe place in Gaza, contrary to what the Israeli army claims, as the safe area that the army designated to shelter the displaced was bombed.
They said the health care system in the Strip had collapsed, and civilians were suffering inhumanely.
The three doctors urged the international community and medical bodies to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire and to allow access to the humanitarian aid needed by the Gaza Strip.
With American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, leaving more than 135,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
