Brahim Chnina, the father of the schoolgirl who lied by accusing Samuel Paty of having discriminated against Muslim students during a lesson on freedom of expression, when she had not attended, and Samuel Paty did not had not discriminated against the students, admitted during the hearing that what he did was “irreparable and unforgivable”.

Prison sentences of one to five years were requested against members of the “jihadopsphere” revolving around the murderer Abdoullakh Anzorov: four 22-year-old men, Yusuf Cinar, Ismaël Gamaev, Louqmane Ingar, and the only woman involved in the Paty affair, Priscilla Mangel, 36 years old.

Abdoullakh Anzorov was linked to the HTC organization which overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad

The murderer of the history and geography professor was linked to the organization that overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTC). Mohammed al-Joulani, leader of this group, led the offensive in Syria which led to the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on the night of Saturday December 7 to Sunday December 8.

Abdoullakh Anzorov, Ismaël Gamaev and Louqmane Ingar were linked to at least one of its members Farrouk Faizimtov. The latter, 24 years old at the time of the assassination of Samuel Paty, carried out propaganda activities from Idlib, in Syria, the birthplace of HTC.

Faizimtov is suspected of having published on Instagram on September 13, 2020, a month before the assassination, a video targeting France after the broadcast of a caricature of the prophet. On the day of the beheading, October 16, Anzarov spoke with him and sent him a photo. He wrote laudatory remarks on Snapchat about HTC which he described as being the “best current group to join” to lead “the real Jihad”.

Anzarov was quickly shot dead by police officers who sought to neutralize him just after the assassination of Samuel Paty.
