Thus, the occupation seeks to remove Islamic exclusivity from the supervision and management of Al-Aqsa Mosque date

The episode (10/23/2024) of the “Mawazine” program shed light on the status of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the dangers that threaten them in light of the Israeli occupation’s efforts to implement Judaization plans, especially after the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle.

At the beginning, the professor of Jerusalem studies, Abdullah Maarouf, reviews the history of the city of Jerusalem, and confirms that the Islamic point of view stipulates that the idea of the Jewish religion, which dates back to the era of the Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, was linked to the city of Jerusalem during the era of the Prophet David, peace be upon him. He cites what the well-known researcher in antiquities said. Biblical story Elit Mazar states that when David, peace be upon him, came to the city of Jerusalem, he found a civilization 1,500 years old, and therefore there is a very ancient period older than the existence of the children of Israel.

The entry of the Jews into the region, from the Islamic point of view, is linked to the fact that the children of Israel during the era of the Prophet David were the unified nation, and for this reason they were given rule over this land during the era of David and Solomon, peace and blessings be upon them.

The professor of Jerusalem studies recalls the words of God Almighty in Surat Al-Anbiya, “And We have written in the Psalms after the remembrance that the land is inherited by My righteous servants,” meaning that the inheritance of the land in that period was not related to the people being the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but rather related to reform.

It shows that the Jewish faith today considers the issue to be linked to race and to Abraham, to whom the Jews say God Almighty promised this land.

The researcher also cites the words of God Almighty in Surah Al-Ma’idah regarding the Jews, “He said that it was forbidden to them for forty years that they wandered in the land,” and he says, “The prohibition here is an eternal prohibition, meaning that it will not be theirs throughout history, but rather they will enter it for a period and then they will leave it, and this is a divine indication of what “It will happen in the future.”

Regarding the dangers to which the city of Jerusalem was exposed after West Jerusalem was declared the capital of the occupying state, Marouf explains that 82% of the area of Jerusalem was in the western part, which fell into the hands of the Jews in 1948.

In 1967, Israel announced the annexation of eastern Jerusalem in a somewhat strange way, annexing the land but not the population, as it considered Arabs, Muslims, and Christians to be foreigners residing in the State of Israel. The goal was for the Palestinian to see himself as a stranger in the Holy City.

Abdullah Maarouf says that Israel was trying to annex the largest area of land and make the city of Jerusalem larger, through which it could control the entire West Bank, and therefore it expanded it and spread settlements there.

Risks threatening Al-Aqsa Mosque

Regarding the dangers to which the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is exposed, Jerusalemite stationer Hanadi Al-Halawani confirms – in her intervention within the “Mawazine” program – that the most prominent dangers are the Israeli occupation’s attempt to impose sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque, impose new realities, and implement plans that it had begun planning since Many years, most notably the implementation of the spatial and temporal division plan.

Today, the occupation is seeking to implement plans, most notably the establishment of a temple or synagogue in Al-Aqsa Mosque, occupying one-fifth of the area of the mosque in the eastern region specifically where the Mercy Chapel is located, and not considering the Mercy Chapel a part of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and this is a dangerous matter, says Al-Halawani.

Regarding the goals of the Jews in excavating under the Temple Mount, other than searching for the remains of the alleged Temple, the professor of Jerusalem studies, Abdullah Marouf, confirms that the occupation began excavations to search for any trace related to the period of the First Temple or the period of the Second Temple, according to the Israeli perception in general and according to the biblical texts, But he did not find any traces dating back to that historical era either under or around Al-Aqsa Mosque.

When they did not find any trace, the Jews then turned to using underground tunnels to hold their rituals and worship until these rituals and worship were transferred above ground.

Regarding the occupation’s efforts to remove Islamic exclusivity in the supervision and management of Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially after the outbreak of the recent war on the Gaza Strip, Abdullah Marouf explains that after the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle and the war on Gaza, there was a very strong war taking place in the city of Jerusalem because the occupation knew that they The heart of this battle.

He says, “The efforts to remove exclusivity and completely remove the Islamic Endowments Department, which is mainly affiliated with Jordan, come based on the idea or law of the current situation, and even based on the peace agreement and the Wadi Araba Agreement. Extremist groups and the Israeli government are trying to remove the Islamic Endowments Department and take full control of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.” It is also trying to divide the area of the Holy City until it turns Al-Aqsa into a special mosque only for the Old City.”

Marouf adds, “The war is taking place in the city of Jerusalem with the same violence and force as it is taking place in the Gaza Strip, even if the tools are different, and the primary goal is to remove Islamic exclusivity, and to enter not as a partner in the management of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, but rather as an alternative to the Islamic Endowments Department in managing the mosque, and here “The source of danger that all Muslims must pay attention to.”
