As the conflict intensifies in southern Lebanon against the Islamist movement Hezbollah, financed and armed by Iran, Israelis in Tel Aviv continue to demand a plan to free the hundred hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza.
As the Gaza conflict against Hamas entered its eleventh month and hopes for peace or a truce seemed to fade again, thousands of Israelis took to the streets of Tel Aviv again on Saturday to demand that the Israeli government reach an agreement guaranteeing the release of hostages still held captive in Gaza.
A new mobilization to try to put pressure on Benjamin Netanyahu.
Protected by a parliamentary majority, the Israeli Prime Minister’s strategy has largely consisted of ignoring the demands of the hostages’ families.
The war in Gaza began when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing about 1,200 people. About 100 hostages are believed to still be held by Hamas, a third of whom are believed to have died.
The protest comes as the conflict has now shifted between Israel and the Islamist Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon.
