The American nurse says that the Israeli authorities confiscating the supplies of Babies formula brought to Gaza by medical workers.
One in 10 children projected in Gaza clinics led by the United Nations Agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, is poorly nourished, while the hunger of Surgea children through the territory in the middle of the continuous Israeli blockade on humanitarian aid.

“Any additional delay to a cease-fire will lead to more death,” he said, noting that more than 870 hungry Palestinians have been killed so far while trying to access food from the very critical distribution system managed by Gaza Humaninian Foundation (GHF), which is supported by Israel and the United States.
UNRWA communications director Juliette Touma told journalists in Geneva via a video, Jordan, that “medicine, nutrition supplies, hygiene equipment, fuel is quickly exhausted”.
“Our health teams confirm that malnutrition rates are increasing in Gaza, especially since the headquarters were tightened more than four months ago on March,” said Touma.
“A nurse to whom we have spoken told us that in the past, he has only seen these cases of malnutrition in textbooks and documentaries,” she said.
“While malnutrition in children is spreading through the enclave torn by war, UNRWA has more than 6,000 food trucks, hygiene supplies, medications, medical supplies outside Gaza. They all wait to go,” added Touma.
“The world cannot continue to look away.”

Since January 2024, UNRWA has said that it had projected more than 240,000 boys and girls under the age of five in its clinics, adding that before war, acute malnutrition was rare in Gaza.
Andee Clark Vaughan, an emergency nurse from the Palestinian New Zealand Medical Association (Panzma) based in Gaza on Wednesday in Tel Aviv Tribune, how the Israeli authorities had confiscated the baby workers’ formula entering the territory.
“Immune systems are so compromised here because of malnutrition,” said Vaughan, describing how Palestinian mothers are so malnutric that they are unable to produce breast milk to feed their infants and forced to make difficult decisions to keep their children alive.
“What we have seen here are the mothers who try to do their best, mixing water – which is often contaminated – with beans or lenses just to do something alternative to have these children feed and provide them with nutrients,” added Vaughan.
UNICEF said on Monday that last month, more than 5,800 children received a malnutrition diagnosis in Gaza, including more than 1,000 children with severe acute malnutrition.
He said it was an increase for the fourth consecutive month.
