The UAE denies arming any party in the Sudanese conflict news

The United Arab Emirates denied providing any of the parties involved in the conflict in Sudan with weapons.

A statement issued by the UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs said that “the UAE has seen a misleading report published by a non-governmental organization regarding allegations related to the presence of AH-4 Hotzr regulations in Sudan,” and it strongly rejects these unfounded allegations and lacks compelling evidence.

The statement added that “the UAE confirms that it does not provide weapons or military support to any of the warring parties in Sudan, and it has been informed of the United Nations directly, and this was reflected in the latest report by the United Nations Security Council expert team on Sudan’s sanctions system, which has not issued any provisions against the UAE, and has not provided any support for its involvement in transporting weapons to Sudan.

The statement continued, explaining that “the highlighter system referred to in the report is a manufactured system outside the Emirates and has been available in the international market for nearly a decade, and the claim that only one country has bought or transferred this system is illogical.”

The statement concluded by emphasizing that “the UAE continues to call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Sudan, protecting civilians, and resuming a comprehensive political process that leads to a civilian government independent of military control.”

On Thursday, Amnesty International revealed the monitoring of Chinese -made weapons of the Rapid Support Forces from the UAE.

The organization’s report reported that advanced weapons include guided bombs and field cannons that re -exported from China “have been confiscated in Khartoum, in addition to their use in Darfur (west), in a flagrant violation of the prohibition of weapons imposed by the United Nations.”

The organization, which is based in Britain, revealed the monitoring of “GB 50A and AH-4 missiles of 155 millimeters”, based on an analysis of pictures of the violations found after attacks in the Darfur region (West), and in Khartoum during March after the army regained control of the capital.

Amnesty International reported that the Chinese weapons that were monitored in Sudan “are manufactured by NORINCO” known as “China North North Industries Group Corporation Limited”, a Chinese state defense group.

The NGO, based on the data of the Swedish Research Institute “Stockholm International Pace” that “the only country in the world that imported AH-4 shells from 155 mm is the UAE in 2019.”

She pointed out that “this indicates that the UAE continues to support the Rapid Support Forces,” in line with what was stated in previous reports, one of which is the United Nations. The organization reminded that it had previously documented that the Gulf state extended rapid support with Chinese -made manufacturers.

Accusation

According to the French Press Agency, Abu Dhabi has always denied the extension of rapid support with weapons, despite the issuance of reports from UN experts, American political officials and international organizations stating the opposite.

The Sudanese government, linked to the army, accuses the UAE of supporting the Rapid Support Forces, which Abu Dhabi denies.

Khartoum announced on Tuesday that the UAE is a “aggression state” and cut diplomatic relations with it, and the UAE replied on Wednesday that it “does not recognize” this decision.

Since mid -April 2023, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been fighting war that left more than 20,000 dead and about 15 million displaced and refugees, according to the United Nations and the local authorities, while a research of American universities estimated the number of deaths of about 130 thousand people.

According to the French Press Agency, the war divided Sudan between areas in the center, north and east, controlled by the army, and another in the south with the grip of the Rapid Support Forces that control the Darfur region (west) in an almost complete form.
