The recently crowned English Chelsea tops the title of the first expanded version of the Club World Cup, the list of the most spending teams on deals in the twenty -first century.
According to a statistic published by the famous “Transfers Market” website, the London club exceeded its spending a barrier of 4 billion euros with a little on the transfers of players since the year 2000 until now.
The Spanish newspaper “Marca” commented on this by saying, “This is not surprising, given that Chelsea used to conclude huge deals every season for prominent stars, some of whom do not achieve expectations.”
The current US billionaire Todd Boulei, Chelsea, has spent more than 1.6 billion euros on 112 deals, most notably Moisis Kaisido and Nazo Fernandez since he possessed the club in May 2022, yet the team only won the European Conference and Club World Cup in the last season 2024-2025.
As for the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the former owner of Chelsea, he spent more than 2.3 billion euros on 487 deals in 19 years (2003 to 2022).
Since the beginning of this century, Chelsea has been crowned two Champions League titles, the same in the European League, and the title in the European Conference, five championships in the Premier League and the same in the FA Cup, and the European Super Cup, one and three cups of charitable “Super English”, in addition to two clubs in the Club World Cup (one of them the new version).
Chelsea is a large difference in his compatriot Manchester City, who is ranked second and who spent just more than 3 billion euros.
The list of the most spending clubs in the twenty -first century witnessed a clear English presence, as there are five clubs out of 10, or half the list, in addition to the Spanish football giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
