The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced – today, Saturday, the deployment of its elements at the entrance to the endosperm governorate in the south of the country, in implementation of an agreement signed a week ago between the government and the dignitaries of the province, after security tensions witnessed in the Jaramana and Sahnaya regions.
As -Suwayda Governorate stated – in a statement published on its platform on Telegram – that the deployment of elements of the Ministry of Interior at the entrance to the province of As -Suwayda with the aim of securing the road in implementation of the terms of the agreement concluded.
On Tuesday evening, the Syrian security announced the killing of two of its members and the injury of 4 others, following an ambush for those who described them as “outlaw groups” that targeted the process of re -wounded to the endosperm after receiving treatment in Daraa in southern Syria.
The Syrian security then warned that the ambush aims to sabotage the agreement signed a week ago with the sheikhs of the mind of the Druze community, and to destabilize the province of As -Suwayda, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
Conditions of agreement
And Friday, the Public Security Agency in As -Suwayda announced the start of the assumption of its role, and the spread of its elements to maintain security and stability, as part of the efforts to implement an agreement reached by the government with the Druze leaders after days of consultations and meetings.
The agreement requires the activation of the police and the judicial police, securing the Suwayda-Damascus road as a first step, the return of safety and stability to the cities of Sahnaya and Jaramana in the Damascus countryside in the south, and activating the role of the judiciary.
The Damascus government also agreed to return two thousand people from the governorate to the police, internal security and the judicial control.
The agreement came two days after security tensions in the Jaramana and Sahnaya regions, which are inhabited by Druze in southern Damascus, and its repercussions extended to As -Suwayda, the only city with a Druze majority.
These turmoil ended with the success of the government in restoring calm and imposing security after agreeing with the elders and notables of the two areas of the Druze.
