The shooting in Jerusalem occupying kills six, according to the Israeli authorities | News Israel-Palestine Conflict

Six people were killed in a bullet attack in East Jerusalem-Est, according to Israeli authorities, while the punishing assault of the Israeli army against the raged Gaza along with a violent accelerated repression of the army and the colonists in occupied West Bank.

Paramedical paramedics said that at least 12 people were injured and six were “serious” after the shooting on Monday morning in Ramot Junction. Several others were “slightly injured by the glass” and treated on the scene, said the paramedical service of Israel, Magen David Adom.

Israeli police have described the shooting as an alleged “terrorist attack”.

A security officer and a civilian killed the authors shortly after the start of the shooting, the police confirmed.

The police said that the authors arrived in a vehicle and opened fire at a bus station.

Israeli forces have closed all the control points between East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank after the attack, sources said in Tel Aviv Tribune.

After the police said the authors had come from the occupied West Bank, the radio of the Israeli army reported that the Israeli forces imposed a military cord with four villages of the governor of Jerusalem on the territory – Qatana, Biddu, Beit Inan and Beit Duqu – and carried out raids.

The Israeli army said that it had strengthened its forces in the wider region of Jerusalem and carried out a great search for what it described as “accomplices” in the shooting.

The Palestinians of West Bank are preparing to deal with collective sanctions from Israel in retaliation for the attack, said a Palestinian journalist.

Addressing Tel Aviv Tribune of the Aida refugee camp in the West Bank, Leila Warah said that the Palestinians were “very in advance, waiting to see what was going to happen”. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli forces are pursuing the villages where the attackers were from what was an Israeli response now standard at such attacks, Warah said.

Hamdah Salhut d’Tel Aviv Tribune – Reporting Amman, Jordan, because Tel Aviv Tribune is banished from East Jerusalem, West Bank and Israel – said: “The Israeli authorities say that the two authors are from an occupied West Bank area which is just west of East Jerusalem. A ticket inspector – and opened fire. »»

“This attack took place near an illegal colony of Ramot, just north of Western Jerusalem, and if you look where the green line is on a map, it actually bleeds in occupied East Jerusalem-East,” she added, referring to the border generally recognized between Israel and the West Bank. “These colonies are deemed illegal under international law and are buildings and structures that infringe the rights of Palestinians and destroy territorial continuity for a future Palestinian state.”

“Israeli officials are now trying to understand how it happened exactly, saying they hadn’t seen something that has happened for years, saying that the last shooting like this in the great Jerusalem was back in November 2023,” said Salhut.

Meanwhile, the Israel Journal Hayom reported that Netanyahu informed the judges he would not attend his corruption trial session on Monday due to security developments.

Netanyahu and the Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the places of the shooting.

“We are in an intense war against terrorism on several fronts,” said Netanyahu. “I want to send condolences to the families of the dead and to the injured. A pursuit and encirclement of the villages from which the terrorists came are underway. ”

“ The strongest party “provides most of the responsibilities

In response to the shooting, the Palestinian Authority (PA) “reiterated its firm position to reject and condemn any targeting of Palestinian and Israeli civilians”. His presidential office declared in a press release from Ramallah in an occupied West Bank that the AP denounces “all forms of violence and terrorism regardless of their source”.

Neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Islamic jihad claimed the responsibility of the shooting but have expressed “congratulations” for the attack.

Hamas said in a statement that the shooting was “a natural response to the crimes of the occupation and the genocide that it warns against our people” and that it sends a clear message that Israel’s plans “occupy and destroy Gaza City and profan the mosque of Al-Aqsa will not pass without punishment”.

The group said that the assault of Israel against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank “will not weaken the determination of our people and their resistance” and called for more attacks in occupied territory.

The Al-Qudes brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian Islamic jihad, said in a brief declaration that the shooting was “a natural and legitimate response to the current crimes of the Zionist enemy” on the Palestinian territory.

The shooting is most likely from the West Bank rather than from Hamas to Gaza, said Israeli political analyst Or Goldberg.

Speaking of Tel Aviv, Goldberg told Tel Aviv Tribune that he doubted “seriously” that he was ordered by Hamas.

If Hamas had led the attack, it would mean that Hamas “was trying to strengthen its resistance to what is starting to look like an attempt bunk to end the war,” he said, referring to the comments of the administration of the American president Donald Trump according to which it works on a war solution in Gaza.

Goldberg added that Israel has made some Palestinians feel that their only means of resistance is violence because Israel has done their best to make sure they have no “model of sustainable policy”.

“Many Israelis ask where the Palestinian Nelson Mandela is, and the answer is either in a cemetery or in an Israeli prison. Israel has done everything he can to break any attempt on the part of the Palestinians to try to explore the different paths, paths that are not violent like those we have seen today, “he said, referring to the shooting.

Goldberg added that if the Palestinians also played a role in the failure of Palestinian policy, Israel is “by all the strongest party” and assumes most of the responsibility.

“Israel has done everything he can break the Palestinian authority, to arrest any semblance of political leadership that may be likely to carry out a political process with Israel and to deny such a political process with vehemence and several times at all levels of the Israeli government,” he said.
