The progression of the far right within the European hemicycle is confirmed, according to the survey.
According to the exclusive Euronews/Ipsos poll, the far right could make a push during the next European elections.
With 30 additional seats planned between the ID and the ECR, the far right would benefit from growth fueled in particular by the support of traditionally pro-European countries, including France.
The National Rally at the top of French voting intentions
The country by country breakdown of our projection shows a significant progression of the extreme right in France.
The National Rally (RN), led by Marine Le Pen, could win ten additional seats, becoming the largest party in the European Parliament with the German CDU/CSU.
According to the poll, the National Rally (RN) comes first in French voting intentions with a score of 30.7% (or 28 seats), followed by the centrists of the “Renaissance, Modem and Horizons” coalition with 18.1 % (17 seats). The podium is completed by the Socialists associated with the “Place Publique” movement who would collect 12.2%. The Europe-Ecologie-Les Verts group would collect 8.1%, “Les Républicains”, 7.6%.
This survey was carried out in 18 countries among representative samples of the population of voting age in each country. It was supplemented by documentary research for the remaining 9 countries of the European Union in order to represent the projection of the seats.
The countries studied represent 96% of the population of the European Union and 89% of the seats in the European Parliament (640 out of 720). A total of 25,916 people were surveyed between February 23 and March 5 online and by telephone. The representativeness of the samples was ensured by the quota method.
