The repercussions of the October 7, 2023 attack are still reverberating within Israel’s institutions, as the Chief of Staff of the Occupation Army, Herzi Halevi, threatens to resign at the end of this year.
In turn, the commander of a unit in the Israeli Military Intelligence Division, Colonel Yossi Shariel, submitted his resignation from his position due to the intelligence failure that preceded the attack.
The resignations are accompanied by sharp differences between the military and political levels, especially between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the far-right ministers on the one hand, and the army leadership and Defense Minister Yoav Galant on the other hand.
