The Palestinian presidency criticizes Khamenei’s statements regarding the “Al-Aqsa Flood” | News

The Palestinian presidency on Monday criticized statements by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in which he said that Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” was necessary for the region.

The Palestinian presidency said in a statement that the Palestinian people “do not need wars that do not serve their aspirations for freedom and independence,” noting that they are the ones paying the price for the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

The Presidency added that Khamenei’s statements clearly declare that “their goal is to sacrifice Palestinian blood, thousands of children, women, and the elderly, and to destroy the Palestinian land,” as it described it.

She said that these statements will not lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and stressed that she does not want policies that she described as not serving the Palestinian national goals of liberating Jerusalem and its sanctities, and that “destroy the Palestinian people and displace them from the land whose identity they struggled to preserve,” according to Her expression.

Khamenei said earlier today that the attack of last October 7, launched by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), occurred “at a sensitive moment in which Israel was seeking to implement a plan to control the region.”

Khamenei pointed out that the Palestinians, through Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood,” succeeded in besieging the Israeli occupation government and thwarted an American plan to change the equations in the region, stressing that “the Zionist entity no longer has any way to escape.”

The Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), represented by the Palestinian Authority, accused Hamas last March of launching the attack on October 7th by an individual decision without consulting any Palestinian party.

It is noteworthy that the Palestinian Authority is trying to have a role in what is called “the next day of the Gaza war,” especially with the United States and European countries re-presenting the two-state solution path, including the revival of the Palestinian Authority.
