On Saturday, the Independent Commission for Human Rights in Palestine expressed its deep concern after the spread of video clips showing officers and members of the security services in the West Bank beating and insulting a number of citizens, while the Palestinian Authority said it was examining the matter.

The Commission called on the Palestinian Authority to open a serious and transparent investigation into it, and to hold accountable anyone proven involved in it.

At the same time, the Commission condemned what it called hate speech and incitement against individuals and officers of the security services and their families.

Palestinian Security Forces spokesman Anwar Rajab confirmed to Tel Aviv Tribune that the security establishment is closely following up, in accordance with established procedures, the widespread videos regarding the behavior of some security personnel and attacks.

Video clips published by activists showed security personnel attacking citizens under the pretext of expressing their opinion on social media sites and forcing them to film video clips containing an apology to the security services, while the authenticity of the clips has not been confirmed from an independent source.

This comes in light of the ongoing events taking place in the city of Jenin and its camp in the northern West Bank, which has been occupied for 3 weeks during a campaign launched by the Palestinian security forces.
