The Israeli occupation army announced on Wednesday its withdrawal from the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood south of Gaza City after operations that lasted about a week, amid clashes in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, the launching of rockets at Sderot in the Gaza Strip, and the continued Israeli bombing throughout the Strip.
The occupation army said that it may return to resume military operations in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood if necessary, while local sources confirmed that the occupation vehicles withdrew from the neighborhood amid machine-gun fire towards homes.
The sources also confirmed that the Israeli forces withdrew towards the south, reaching the Israeli army’s positions in the Netzarim axis in the central Gaza Strip.
Palestinian media said that the occupation army destroyed a residential square in the vicinity of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood clinic before withdrawing from the area today.
She added that the occupation army completely destroyed the Al-Zaytoun clinic and 4 schools during the aggression against the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, which lasted 6 days.
Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said that Civil Defense crews began recovering the bodies of martyrs from the Zaytoun neighborhood after the withdrawal of Israeli army forces.

Violent clashes
For his part, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent confirmed that violent clashes took place between the resistance factions and the occupation forces in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, which the Israeli army announced a return to a few days ago.
The Al-Quds Brigades confirmed that its fighters killed and wounded an Israeli foot force during clashes on Al-Sikka Street, east of the Jabalia camp.
As the clashes continued in the areas of the incursion, the occupation army acknowledged the killing of a soldier during battles in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Thus, the death toll of the occupation army rose to 621 since the beginning of the war on October 7, 273 of them since the beginning of the ground operation on the 27th of the same month.
Sderot bombing
In a related development, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that Israeli air defenses attempted to intercept missiles in the sky of the Sderot settlement in the northern Gaza Strip.
At a time when Israeli media reported that 3 missiles were fired at Sderot and two people were injured after one of them fell, Maariv newspaper confirmed that a building in Sderot was hit by a missile fired from Gaza.
Israeli Army Radio said that one of the missiles was fired from Jabalia, adding that sirens sounded twice within an hour in the settlements of Sderot and Otav on the border with Gaza.
Bombing and martyrs
The occupation army also continued to target neighborhoods throughout the Gaza Strip, and Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that intense Israeli artillery shelling targeted the Al-Salam and Al-Jeneina neighborhoods, east of the city of Rafah.
He added that 10 martyrs were killed in an Israeli bombing on a clinic affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) that was housing displaced people in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
He confirmed that a bombing by the occupation forces north of Gaza City caused the death of 5 people and injured 13. He added that the bombing also targeted a residential apartment for the Abu Zaher family in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent also reported that 5 people were martyred in an Israeli bombing on the home of the Brash family in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
He said that the occupation forces opened fire in the Netzarim axis on the sea road west of the Central Governorate, causing martyrs.
He stated that the number of victims of the Israeli raid on a house and a school in the Nuseirat camp had risen to 43 martyrs, while residents continued to search for survivors and martyrs under the rubble.
The ongoing Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip resulted in the death of 35,173 Palestinians and the injury of 79,61 others, while thousands are still missing.
