The occupation forces tightened their measures in the occupied city of Jerusalem, deployed checkpoints, and stormed towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem, on the eve of the Jewish Hanukkah holiday.

The Wadi Hilweh Human Rights Information Center in Jerusalem said that the occupation forces set up checkpoints and checkpoints, and conducted searches of young men near the Mughrabi and Al-Sahira gates leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The center indicated that it stormed the town of Jabal al-Mukaber and set up a military checkpoint, and the Bir Ayoub area in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

For its part, the Jerusalem Governorate said that the occupation forces stormed the towns of Abu Dis (east) and the Ras Khamis neighborhood in the town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem.

She pointed out that 179 settlers participated in the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday, “under heavy guard by the Israeli occupation forces.”

Tens of thousands of settlers participate in the Eid Al-Anwar celebrations, which are centered in Al-Buraq Square adjacent to the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The first day of Eid begins tomorrow, Thursday, and continues until next January 2, and it is expected that settlers will storm Al-Aqsa Mosque over the course of 6 days.

As the holiday approaches, the leaders and supporters of the extremist “Temple groups” insist on celebrating it inside Al-Aqsa squares in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and on carrying out its rituals, especially in the eastern courtyards of the mosque. In return, the attack on Jerusalemites intensifies and restrictions are imposed on their entry into it.

According to Palestinian sources, last Monday, occupation intelligence summoned 10 of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s guards and subjected them to investigation, in a scene that is repeated before Jewish events and holidays.
